Anybody dealt with a mold problem in their home that required remediation?

I've got a mold problem in my basement that will require remediation. The mold inspector recommended I throw out much of my furniture and other things and remove the carpet. I've got mold remediation companies giving me estimates.

What a royal PITA this is!!!

I had a USAA insurance adjuster at the house yesterday and I'm hoping they will cover at least part of the cost of the remediation. I never realized what a problem mold can cause. Luckily it's not on the top two floors. The mold inspector said 2018 was the wettest year on record and many homeowners have the same problem.

Anybody else dealt with this problem recently and care to share?
